Why Play & Socialise?

Socialisation is a really important part of your dog's development. Those who do not get many opportunities to interact positively with other dogs (and other aspects of socialisation) are more likely to struggle to cope with later novel situations. It is really important that when we socialise dogs, it is not just about exposing them to new things but providing them with positive exposure to these things.

Being able to socialise in a controlled environment is particularly advantageous to younger dogs. These sessions are also brilliant for older dogs, who have been well socialised. It will allow them to play and interact in a private environment with other friendly dogs whilst exercising them physically and providing mental stimulation.

Use of our private field • Use for up to 1 hour • Free Parking • Water supplied

Tracey with Harper

Well, what a fantastic time Harper had today at Ryecroft Meadow with all the other puppies and small dogs.

We will definitely be going back, she thoroughly enjoyed mixing with all the other dogs and practising recall.

Emma with Ruby

Ruby loved her first time here today.

She made lots of new fur friends and is absolutely worn out now! Brilliant place for dog socialising, we will definitely be back next week.

Mandy with Marley

Had a great time at Reycroft the past two weeks at the play sessions.

Enclosed field with lots of friendly people and dogs. Highly recommend for your dog to let off steam and make new friends.

Play Session: Frequently asked questions

Is this suitable for my dog?

We only accept friendly and non-reactive dogs. If your dog has any pre-existing behavioural issues that will be specifically affected by putting them in this situation please do not bring them. If we believe your dog is uncomfortable, not enjoying it, being too rough and so on we will ask you to leave. Please do not take this personally, we have the dogs best interest in mind.

What is it all about?

Socialisation is a really important part of your dog's development. Those who don't get many opportunities to interact positively with other dogs (and other aspects of socialisation) are more likely to struggle to cope with later novel situations. Are these sessions monitored?

Whilst we ask all owners to watch and consider their dog's interactions and play there will always be a staff member present in these sessions.

Which session should my dog attend?

We run small dog play which is suitable for small and small-medium dogs. We also run a play session for larger dogs. If you're unsure which one to come along to, contact us!

How long are the sessions?

The sessions last 1 hour (unless otherwise stated on the events page on facebook). If you think your dog has had enough before the hour ends please don't feel you have to stay, also watch your dogs body language, they may be tired pretty quick!

Can I use treats?

Yes, you can use treats. We do ask that you don't use treats when other dogs are nearby.

How do I book and how much is it?

On our website.
